Here’s what you’ll need:
- Melt and Pour Soap
- Fabric Flower Petals
- Tweezers
- Wax Paper
- Double Broiler
Here’s a tip on where to get your supplies:
You can purchase melt and pour soap on Ebay for about $3.25 a pound – it’s best to use a clear soap, and not necessarily fragrance free. Just be sure to choose a scent that you and/or your guests will enjoy.
Fabric flower petals are a cinch to find as they’re often sold in local dollar stores (this would be your cheapest solution). You can also visit a craft store, pick up some faux flower stems and cut off the petals for dipping in the soap.
- Slowly melt the “melt and pour” soap in a double broiler.
- Using tweezers, dip an individual flower petal into the melted soap.
- Gently shake off any excess soap, then place the petal onto wax paper so it dries and hardens.
- Repeat the steps above until you have dipped all of your petals.
- Arrange the petals in a dish for you and/or your guests to use.
